SCHEDULE

Friday ( AABJ&D Zoom Room):
Mincha:  5:40PM
Talia Bank's Bat Mitzvah D'var Torah:  5:50PM
Kabbalat Shabbat:  6:00PM
Candle Lighting: 6:59PM

Saturday*
Havdalah:  8:08PM

* One of the main benefits of our davening together daily on Zoom is that everyone starts Shmoneh Esreh at the same time.  Since Zoom is not available on Shabbos, we suggest those who can aim to time their davening to being Shmoneh Esrei of Shacharit at either 8:30AM or 9:30AM so that we can daven together.

RABBI'S MESSAGE

It is hard to believe that we are entering our third Shabbos without the ability to daven together in Shul. We continue to acclimate ourselves to our new reality of life. Some of us do so through humor. I saw a post this week suggesting that if one needs more space on their phone, you can safely remove the Waze app, as we won’t be going anywhere for awhile. It was only a few weeks back that I shared on a “Ponder” how frustrating it was to be sitting in traffic and getting impatient when numerous cars cut in front of me directly before the exit. There is a part of me that now longs to sit in traffic. While the challenge of our impatience may no longer be applicable outside of our homes for the time being, it certainly is inside of our homes. The Hebrew word for patience is savlanut. Rav Zelig Pliskin notes that savlanut is closely related to the word sivlot, the word used to describe the pain of the Jewish people in Egypt. More often than not, when we really need to be patient it is very challenging to do so. For most of us at home these days, this may certainly be the case. From those of us who are frustrated by loneliness, to those of us frustrated by lack of personal space, to those of us juggling working from home while entertaining and managing our lively children, patience is a great virtue. Yet, we are also human, and sometimes we fall short when it comes to patience. So long as we acknowledge our mistakes to those who have been impacted by our impatience, we can continue to grow even during this challenging period. May Hashem bless us with good health and the ability to be patient with our families and ourselves.

Good Shabbos!
