RABBI'S MESSAGE

The Shulchan Aruch states based on the Gemara that one is obligated to start learning the laws of a Chag, thirty days before the holiday.  Therefore, it is mitzvah to start learning the laws of Pesach on the day of Purim, since both Purim and Pesach fall on the fourteenth day of their respective months.  The Gemara bases this custom on the fact that Moshe taught the people about Pesach Sheni a month earlier on Pesach itself.  Rav Avraham of Karlin zt”l suggests a spiritual connection for this period of time.  He explains that on Purim we wipe away the nation of Amalek, as attested to the Torah reading on Purim morning.  On Pesach we wipe away chametz from within our midst.  While we physically read the Torah and physically clean our homes, there is a great mystical meaning to wiping away the elements of Amalek and the elements of Chametz that lie within our soul.  This process takes time.  May we merit to fulfill this mission. Good Shabbos!

-Glatt Fusion has been bought by the owner of Kosher Express in Fairlawn.  It will now be called Kosher Express West Orange.  Much hatzlacha to new owner Jay Hirschorn.  We look forward to many successful years in West Orange.
