West Orange Chesed Project
An initiative
of the Sisterhood of Congregation AABJ&D
In cooperation with Congregation Ohr Torah
As you may recall, an
initiative was begun several months ago to create an official program to
respond to the major Chesed needs within the West Orange community. This
initiative has evolved into the West Orange Chesed Project, which is now up
and running.
The goal of the West Orange Project
is to assist members of our community, regardless of shul affiliation, in
the areas identified as requiring the greatest attention: bikur cholim,
errands and meals. To accomplish this goal, we need your help! Attached
please find the West Orange Chesed Project’s Resource List. This list
provides you with the names and telephone numbers of the Team Leaders for
bikur cholim, errands and meals. If you or someone you know requires any
assistance, please feel free to contact any one of the named Team Leaders.
These leaders will then assist, to the best of their abilities, in
coordinating and arranging for the individual or family in need to receive
the help required.
The Chesed Project hopes to be of help in
times of need. If anyone is hospitalized, ill at home, etc., we will help
with the bikur cholim and support aspects related to the illness. If anyone
is physically homebound or in need of shopping, errands or driving
assistance, we will make every effort to assist. If anyone needs meals
cooked due to a recent childbirth, illness, family crisis, etc., we will
help in arranging those meals.
Please feel free to contact the Team
Leaders with any assistance you may require. Moreover, please let us know
if you know of someone who might appreciate our services. We strive for
great discretion and confidentiality and will always try our best to act
with a heightened sensitivity towards the best interests of those who avail
themselves of the Chesed Project.
As always, if you would like to volunteer
your time for the West Orange Chesed Project, feel free to contact the
committee or any Team Leader.
