Somaich Fund - In memory of Brad Nussbaum, z'l.

In light of the terrible loss felt by all in our community with the passing of Brad Nussbaum, z”l, Congregation AABJ&D of West Orange, New Jersey, in cooperation with the Lubavitch Center of Essex County, has established the “Somaich Fund” in Brad’s memory.

The purpose of the Somaich Fund is to provide for the needs of the family members of individuals (members of the West Orange Community) whose untimely passing leaves their minor children and dependent spouse in difficult financial circumstances. The Fund will provide assistance not only to the Nussbaum family but could also provide assistance to other families in the West Orange Community if, chas v’shalom, they find themselves in need of financial support as a result of such a tragic loss.

In order for the amounts contributed to be properly administered by Congregation AABJ&D for this purpose, and for donors to avail themselves of charitable tax deductions, the contributed amounts cannot be designated for the exclusive use of a specific family, and all assets of the Fund will be distributed for the stated purposes at the discretion of designated representatives of Congregation AABJ&D.

In times of sorrow, it is imperative that Jews of all communities come together to support those affected by tragedy.  Please make your checks payable to Congregation AABJ&D and include “Somaich Fund” on the memo line.

For those who wish to donate to the Somaich Fund by check, please mail your contribution to Congregation AABJ&D, 700 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052.

Those who wish to contribute to the Somaich Fund online via credit card or PayPal, kindly fill out the fields below to be directed to the payment page. Please be sure to include SOMAICH FUND in the NOTES field.

For those wishing to make gifts for the exclusive benefit of the Nussbaum family, a private Trust Fund (to be designated as The Brad Nussbaum Family Trust) is being established, and we ask that you please contact Mr. Eric Landy at elandy@edgemontgrp.com or (973) 202-8445 for information. Any such gifts made to The Brad Nussbaum Family Trust will not be deductible as charitable contributions.
